Diane Keir

Diane has always loved travelling. After the passing of her mother in February 2000,  she decided that she didn’t want to continue doing the Visiting Nursing. During her mother’s illness Diane read “Boom Bust and Echo” and the rest is history.

Diane started by organizing fundraising cruises in the Collingwood area and to-date has raised about $40,000.00. She now organizes Bridge Cruises with Geraldine LaChance - an American Contract Bridge League Director and Teacher. Geraldine has also achieved her Life Masters in Bridge.

Diane has travelled to many destinations, both land trips and cruises. Among them are:
European river cruises with Uniworld and Viking Cruise Lines
A Barge Cruise in France
River cruising in Russia
River cruising in Portugal on the Duro River
Two Alaska cruise with Holland America Line
Two Caribbean sailings with Princess Cruises
A Mediterranean cruise with Orient Lines
Hawaii with Celebrity Cruises

Diane has also visited Japan, Bermuda and has travelled throughout the UK & Europe.

We  had a 17 day trip to South America  which started with two nights

in Santiago Chile and included a private tour of the city..

We boarded our ship in Valparaiso, Chile and visited, Peru, Ecuador and Columbia.

A few people in the group did an optional excursion to Machu Picchu during our time in Peru.

For the people who did the 2 night excursion to Machu Picchu, this was definitely their highlight  For the rest of the group it was going through the Panama Canal, from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean. We were on deck by 6:30am to witness entering  the canal and spent most of the day there. Around 4:30 pm we left the canal. What an experience !

Two years ago we did a “Land Cruise” to an All Inclusive Resort in El Salvador.

Visiting this country in Central America was a real eye opener.

The beaches were lovely and the weather was just perfect.

This year’s trip was a cruise to  Cozumel, Mexico, Roatan, Honduras, Puerto Limon, Costa Rica, Colon Panama, Cartagena, Columbia and George Town, Grand Cayman.

It was an amazing trip.

Roatan was one of my favourite ports. The snorkelling was good and the wild life was quite an experience. Seeing monkeys playing all around us like children.

This year our Bridge trip is another “Land Cruise”. 14 nights at an All Inclusive Resort

in Cuba, from February 24 to March 9, 2012

We have so many more places which we would like to visit.
