What is F.U.E.L.?
This is the Food You need for Energy and Life.
You know that your child depends on you to help keep him/her properly fed with all the right nutrients. But how do you do it when you are a parent on the go???
Follow these 5 simple strategies and you and your child will be all the happier (and healthier) for it!
1. Plan ahead…..have all the groceries you will need on hand. Fruits, veggie sticks, yogurt, nuts...these are easily stored and do not usually go bad. So always make sure your fridge and pantry are stocked up.
2. Put food/snacks in glass containers or small sealable bags for easy grab-and-go.
3. Keep healthy nutritionally balanced bars or shakes (such as Isalean bars and Isalean shakes) in your child’s back pack and/or in your glove compartment.
4. Ensure that your child has a “carbo-sports drink” on hand for long games, practices and tournaments. I recommend “Need more Energy” natural electrolyte and mineral energy drink mix.
5. Ensure that your child has something to eat (or a shake) 1 to 1.5 hours before a game/practice/tournament AND refuels immediately (no longer than 30 minutes) after their activity.
